Physiotherapy for sports injuries

Peak Physiotherapy will assess and diagnose accurately any sports injury due to running, football, rugby, weight training, skiing, swimming and cycling. The exercise program will target the specific demands of the sport that the client needs to return to, which will also help with injury prevention. Return to sport timescales will be clearly outlined on the initial assessment. A thorough movement screen will be carried out during the initial assessment to determine if there are any biomechanical factors related to the sports injury. Common sports injuries seen are tennis elbow, rotator cuff tendinopathy, Achilles tendinitis, patellofemoral joint pain, meniscus tear of the knee, labral tear of the hip, hamstring tear, gluteal tendinopathy, sciatica, disc injuries of the spine and shoulder impingement.

Physiotherapy for posture

In the last couple of years, with more people working from home, we have seen an increase in muscle and joint pain due to poor posture, especially resulting in neck pain, shoulder pain and low back pain. Ergonomic advice will be given and an exercise program will be outlined to increase the tolerance of muscles and joints to prolonged work related postures such as sitting.

Physiotherapy for chronic pain

Peak Physiotherapy also specialises in assessing and managing clients with chronic pain. We will take a thorough history during the subjective assessment and complete a full assessment of your range of motion, strength and movement. A treatment plan will be discussed in detail and clear measurable goals will be agreed with the client. In many cases, a graded exercise program is the key to a successful outcome.
